Terms & Conditions for Homestay Applications
- Applications will be processed when Homestay Network Pty Ltd (Network) is in receipt of:
- Standard Homestay Application Form (this form)
- Payment, including:
- Placement Fee;
- First four (4) weeks Accommodation;
- Bank charge if applicable and,
- Airport Transfer and/or Guardianship Fee, if applicable
- No refund of placement fee will be made after work has begun on your request.
- The Network should be advised in writing of any changes to the requirements you may have at the time an application is lodged. Additional Fees may be charged for any subsequent change in requirement after an application is lodged.
- Guests who cancel within seven (7) days before arrival will be charged two (2) weeks Accommodation Fee (less any surcharge(s), if applicable). A full refund of Homestay Fee (less any surcharge(s), if applicable) will be given if a booking is cancelled seven (7) or more days before arrival.
- Guests who do not arrive as scheduled without notice will not receive refunds.
- Guests who wish to view homes for approval will be offered one home to visit. If the home is visited and proves unsatisfactory a second home will be provided. Guests who do not make an appointment or keep the appointment nor contact the Network after the visit will not be provided with an additional home.
- Guests who change Homestay for circumstances beyond their control will receive their second placement free of charge (for example – Host has to travel for work, Family member becomes ill, room is no longer available as a relative has to live there, etc). Guests who wish to change their homestay outside of of these reasons will be charged a second placement fee at the sole discretion of the Network.
- Guests who book Standard Homestay but stay less than four (4) weeks will not receive a refund.
- On leaving Homestay the guest must give two (2) weeks notice or pay two (2) weeks fee in lieu of notice. Host must also allow a guest two (2) weeks notice if they wish a guest to leave.
- All fees are paid four (4) weeks (28 days - NOT a calendar month) in advance on the first day of each new payment cycle.
- The Network reserves the right to accept or reject any application submitted without cause or reason.
- Minimum age for placement using the online application form is 15 years of age.
- The Network reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time by placing the revised Terms and Conditions on this website.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Legal recourse arising out of and in relation to an Application for Homestay will be in the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia and the Courts of Appeal available in that jurisdiction.
